About

Over 300 years ago our earlist known ancestor to come to the new world, now known as the Unites States, was Phillip Babb. He was appointed fisheries master in 1652 by the Massachusetts Bay Colony for the Isles of Shoals and Kittery, Maine. When he arrived from Devonshire, England, Shoals was known by locals as Hog Island.

Phillip and his wife, Mary, had five sons, William Babb (about 1662), Thomas Babb (about 1664), Philip Babb (about 1666), Sampson Babb {about 1668) and Peter Babb (29 Sep 1671). We are the direct decentants of Phillip’s second son Thomas. Since then his decendants have spread out all over the country.
